The Story Behind this Painting
Combining a mountain scene from a greeting card with her knowledge of wildlife and Rocky Mountain snowstorms, Florence painted the original 15" x 22" watercolor on cold press and titled it Cold Mountain Moose. Florence referenced photographs she took of moose that wandered through her property at her Red Lodge, Montana cabin. A maturing bull moose (right) calculates whether to take on a senior bull (left) that has greater body mass, years of experience, and a full rack. Completed in 2010, Florence masterfully brings to life the challenge of life in the Rockies in this cold encounter. This high-quality giclée print comes rolled and ready for matting and framing under glass. Ships rolled in a protective tube.
Cold Press Watercolor Fine Art Paper ~ Images are highly detailed in a watercolor textured matte finish. A print of a watercolor painting on this type of paper looks very close to the original. All paper prints include a 1" (one inch) white border around the image to allow for future matting and framing. Paper prints should be matted, framed, and placed under glass to enhance and protect the print.
